What is granicrete?
Granicrete is a polymer modified concrete mix designed for coating new or existing surfaces,
that when applied and colored properly, can simulate virtually any stone, tile or stained concrete.
What colors and patterns are available?
The Granicrete coloring system can produce nearly any color found in nature and since each surface is colored by hand,
the possibilities for patterns and color combinations is nearly endless.
Compared to other countertop materials, how durable is it?
Granicrete Countertop Systems are installed with a commercial grade, non-porous top coat that is food safe,
heat resistant to 500 degrees, and will not crack. It is very stain resistant, repairable,
and does not have to be re-sealed once installed. It also cleans up with standard home products like 409 or Windex type products and a paper towel.
How is it installed?
The counter tops system is a re-surfacing system that is applied in several thin layers over existing Formica, tile, or natural surface...as well as new construction re-surfacing over a wood base.
The coloring is then applied and the top coat to complete the installation.
Are the granicrete countertops suitable for commercial kitchen use?
Absolutely! Granicrete has been USDA approved:
"Crystal Top Epoxy will meet the performance requirements to the USDA as a sealer and topcoat for floors, counter tops or walls." Also, Crystal Top Epoxy will stand up to rigorous cleaning and dampness and is grease and acid resistant. Unlike granite, granicrete is not porous and will not hold germs and does not need to be resealed.
Can granicrete be used to resurface my current countertops?
The general answer is yes. When we meet with you for your consultation, we will make an assessment of the material and structural integrity of your current counter tops to ensure it is suited for granicrete
to be applied directly on it. If your current countertops are not suitable, we would be happy to fabricate and install a new counter top for you.
Can I place hot pans / dishes on my granicrete countertop?
I recommend that you DO NOT place hot things such as hot pots directly on any of the counter tops
Granicrete is heat resistant; however, this may damage or discolor the top coat. I recommend installing trivets next to the stove to place hot pots and pans on.

Whoever coined the phrase "hard as a rock" might very well have been thinking of granite. Formed over millions of years from compressed molten rock under the Earth's surface, granite is extremely hard and durable.
With its heat-resistant qualities, granite doesn't blister; it's also unlikely to scratch or chip. When used for kitchen countertops, it's far superior to marble, synthetic and laminate. It's also better-looking and has a luminous, dimensional quality when polished.
Granite is made up of interlocking mineral crystals, the most common being feldspar and quartz. But an array of other minerals can be included, and these make each piece of granite unique. Feldspar is the white mineral you see in granite; the light gray veins are quartz; and the black is typically mica
